Water puppet theater is a must-see place if you first travel in Hanoi, live music and sketches of local lifestyles. This ancient form of water puppet art has a long but original association – and is considered the best theater in town as the Thang Long Puppet Theater in Hoan Kiem district.

Puppets dance and slide gracefully on the water, depicting stories of ancient myths and folklore that are easy to grasp for foreign visitors. Held every night from 15:00 onwards, advance bookings are highly recommended, especially on weekends.
